Virtualization is ideal for the company interested in lowering its overall energy footprint.  Just by the nature of the product, every ServInt VPS uses far fewer energy resources than are used when each customer is provided its own physical environment on a traditional dedicated server.  With the SuperVPS ServInt maximizes the benefit of virtualization by committing exclusively to low-voltage server hardware.  ServInt works closely with its hardware vendors to craft the ideal SuperVPS host machines to provide plentiful resources to our customers with the lowest possible energy footprint.

Your hosting experience on the ServInt SuperVPS won't negatively affect the Earth's climate.  In fact, it's ServInt's goal to do our part to improve it.  As part of the SuperVPS product, ServInt invests in reforestation projects designed to offset the carbon emissions of the SuperVPS hosting project.  We calculate our commitment levels based not only on the energy consumption of the host servers, but on the entire SuperVPS infrastructure.  That includes all core routing and switching equipment, as well as our extensive back-LAN that provides customers with their free backups and centralized update repositories.

But, we're not satisfied with making no impact on the environment.  We want to make a positive one.  Therefore, ServInt has committed to investing in reforestation projects at levels exceeding the overall draw of the SuperVPS infrastructure by at least 10 percent.  That way, you can feel assured that you're not just balancing things out, you are truly making a difference.

ServInt has committed itself to a number of green initiatives within its organization. One that specifically affects the SuperVPS is the manner in which all of ServInt's server components are utilized and eventually disposed.  We have made company-wide commitments to responsible disposal of 100 percent of our server hardware when it has reached the end of its life.  This includes a commitment to recycle 100 percent of all recyclable components, and to meet or exceed all environmental standards for the disposal of all non-recyclable, hazardous components.  Electronic components make up a shockingly large portion of overall landfill waste, but you won't find any ServInt servers polluting your local dump.   Instead, we're ensuring that yesterday's server components will serve a new, renewed purpose tomorrow.
